The three rules that apply everywhere
1 · Remove footwear
Shoes come off at the entrance — expect crowded, warm shoe counters. Wear easy slip-ons; socks help on hot stone. At some shrines the entire approach lane is shoe-free.
2 · Close 11:30 am – 5 pm
Nearly every temple shuts for the deity’s afternoon rest. Plan museums, lunch and rest for 12–4 pm — it is not a flaw in your itinerary, it is the rhythm of Braj.
3 · Dress & respect
Covered shoulders and below-knee length work everywhere. Photography is banned in several sanctums and at Banke Bihari completely — check per page before you bring a camera.
